How to Apply Mascara - Mascara Tips

Posted by admin in Makeup Tips

Eyelashes that are long, full, thick and have volume are adorable.

Many people want to have maximised eyelashes without clumps.

The following tips will help you to get the look.

1. Curl the eyelashes.

Make sure to clean the eyelash curler before you use. Curl the lashes three times (bottom of the lashes, middle and near the top, respectively).

2. Apply a powder around eyes

This can prevent from having panda eyes. A powder mattifys the skin, and helps to prevent smudging.

3. Bend the mascara wand between 60 to 90 degree.

The mascara application would be a lot easier with a bended wand of your prefered angle. If you push the wand gently and gradually, you can bend it without breaking it.
4. Apply the mascara

Place the mascara wand at the base (near the roots of eyelashes). Move it in a zig-zag motion towards the tips of the lashes. Hold the wond in a vertical way and catch the lashes you’ve missed.

5. Wait for few minutes for mascara to dry

6. Use a lash comb

Comb through lashes from the base to the tips to remove clumps.

7. Do the second coat to add length and volume.

Repeat Tips 4, 5 & 6.

The Beauty of Foundation Primer - Foundation Base

Posted by admin in Makeup Tips

Foundation primers or base work as a film or barrier between the skin and foundation. When the skin gets oily or dry, the foundation seems to dissapear. By having the primer or base, the foundation stays on longer, as the skin cannot absorb it due to dryness nor the skin oil (sebum) remove the foundation.

They also create a smooth texture on the skin, so that the pores would be minimised and wrinkles would be filled and plumped.

Here are my recommendations on foundation primers for different skin types as following:

For Oily Skin - Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Oil Free.

It is a lightweight creamy gel type primer, and specifically created for oily, sensitive and acne-prone skin types. It also has a high water content which hydrates dry area around active blemishes.

For Visible Pores - Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector

It instantly minimises the visibility of pores and has long lasting matte finish. Anti-shines, resist sweat and humidity.

For Dry or Mature Skin - Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Hydrating

The primer is specifically designed for dehydrated and/or mature skin. It nourishes the skin with a moisture rich vitamin formura, which also works as antioxidants and protect the skin from environmental pollutions.

For Normal or Combination Skin - Chanel Base Lumiere.

It’s oil free and fragrance free. The base evens out the complexion with illuminating effects. It also contains antipollutants that protect the skin from environmantal damages and marine extracts to protect from dehydration.

To sum up, foundation base / primers not only prolongers the effect of foundation, but also protect the skin from environmental damages.
It’s absolutely essential to apply it, prior to your foundation.
